Everyday, we see God’s hand at work in a different way. It is absolutely amazing. We look back on the past year, and it’s apparent that this situation has always been coming to us. While this is by far the hardest, most emotional situation either of us have ever been through, and know that it will only become more challenging as the days fast approach, we realize how we have already grown so much in our faith and together as a couple because of it. No doubt the days are hard and at any instant we find ourselves an absolute emotional mess, but at the same time, it is such a comfort to know that God has all of this in His hands and continues to reveal Himself in everything. God has prepared a way for all of this-that is obvious. Thank you Jesus for the strength and peace you constantly bestow upon us. We have what we need because of you.
Thanks to everyone who made the Pancake Breakfast Benefit a complete success! We are so blessed to you have you all in our lives. Words cannot describe how grateful and humbled we are by your devotion to our family. So many of you came to show your support for our family-it is truly so humbling and overwhelming. We feel so loved and cared for. What a blessing for us to have such loving support as we prepare for Poppy’s journey ahead.
This verse has and continues to provide such encouragement for us as each day is full of a whole slew of emotions, both positive and negative. Poppy’s condition is extremely serious, and we easily find ourselves preparing for the worst. This verse reminds us of God’s place in all of this. So powerful…
“Cursed is the one who trusts in man, who draws strength from mere flesh and whose heart turns away from the Lord. That person will be like a bush in the wastelands; they will not see prosperity when it comes. They will dwell in the parched places of the desert, in a salt land where no one lives. But blessed is the man who trusts in the Lord, whose confidence is in Him. They will be like a tree planted by the water, that sends out roots by the stream. It does not fear when heat comes; its leaves are always green. It has no worries in a year of drought and never fails to bear fruit.” -Jeremiah 17:5-8
